Are you worried about the generation coming behind us? Yes? So am I!
Our kids have no idea what will be the consequences to their choices! But, the LOVE of God is the vaccine against worldliness! Focusing on the symptoms of worldliness like the slippage of personal standards is like taking an aspirin too deal with a tumor!
Yell all you want, stomp your feet, but you’re wasting your time! You’re only preaching to the choir: the only people listening are folks that already agree with you! The ones you are concerned about think you’re “old school ignorant.” Jesus said, “if you LOVE me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15 KJV). What we have today is a LOVE problem. This generation is missing the passion and revelation into deeper depths because what they love, is themselves. Further, they’ve seen the elitism, materialism and pompousness of many church people and they can do without it! They’ve equated God with man and turned from God and as a result, they haven’t had the divine manifestations where God met them personally, miracles signs and wonders. They think this “faith stuff” is a waste of time!
Our generation has slipped in our faith! So many con men damaged our hearts. We have had so many fakes and frauds hurt our faith and as a result, we lost our first love! Now we settled on an image of things once held dear, images that make us remember the good old days! But the thing WE lost is in the hidden chamber of our hearts and that is LOVE! Jesus warned us about that as well, He asked a rhetorical question, “when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth”? (Luke 18:8 NKJV) Meaning faith will be scarce! But friends, the counterfeit only makes the genuine more valuable!
As a young man, I experienced undeniable super natural things: prayer meetings in living rooms that manifested great grace, healings, signs and wonders, divine light, and angelic experiences! People can’t barely believe what we experienced is true and real (even my own kids tilt their heads)! But, we can experience these supernatural things if we do what is commanded in 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.
Anyone remember getting lost in prayer, calling out [to God] and be in sweet communion with the King of kings? The result is a changed life! My friends, what we LOVE demands our focus, what we LOVE maintains our thoughts. Our private moments are captivated by what we love. Everything we do and say is impacted by what we LOVE! Jesus himself warned that in the last days “…the love of many would wax cold” (Matthew 24:18 KJV)
So rather than focusing on the treating the symptoms of worldliness, let’s again and watch what happens next!
